We love working hard to help US-Japan relations from where we are in Texas and Oklahoma. Much of what we do is in-person at events where many people gather to learn more about Japan and support our alumni network.

However, we are committed to doing what we can do prevent the spread of COVID-19.

With that in mind, we have postponed indefinitely a number of events, including Yeehawnami (originally scheduled for Mar 28, 2020), until the need for social distancing is gone. You can see our Event Calendar for more postponements.

At this time, we welcome ideas and suggestions for virtual or remote planning that supports our mission, from alumni and community members alike. For example, we’re looking into arranging pen-pal programs. If you have community connections that could help us arrange that or other remote programming, please use our Collaborate With Us! page to reach out.

You can learn more about COVID-19 at the CDC’s website. If you live in Texas, you can find specific information, including testing options, at the Texas Department of State Health Services website. For those in Oklahoma, please visit the website of the Oklahoma State Department of Health.

Stay safe, y’all!
